We are Plynk...but, why?
On Friday, Plynk set up camp in Bank of Ireland’s StartLab. What started as an induction day for our new hires turned into a full day of sharing, learning, listening...and messing.
In the morning, all our Plynkers assembled and we listened to colleagues talk about growth, engineering and people. Every member of the Plynk team took part in what was a huge learning curve, not only for the new hires, but also for the original team.
That’s the thing about Plynk: we never stop learning.
Each new ticket raised leads to a new path of discovery. Each meeting we have with partners and regulatory bodies leads to new questions, new possible obstacles to overcome. Each Friday lunchtime leads to over-sharing about last night’s Bumble date.
So, on Friday we were learning about how we plan to expand in the coming months, and how our team is equipped to do that.
A session with Lesley Tully, Head of Design Thinking at Bank of Ireland, capped off a day that forced us all to think about why we’re doing what we’re doing, and who we’re doing it for. We are Plynk...but, why?
Afterwards, we digested all we learned at our ‘Summer BBQ’. I realise it's nearly November, but as anyone in a startup knows...things get delayed.
It’s been a baptism of fire for our latest additions to the team but they haven’t gone running for the hills just yet. Andrew joins us from Citibank and will work with the Engineering team on building out our infrastructure, while Mark will lead UX design. Tatiana is a fellow ex-Facebooker and Matthew comes from Capita, both will work on the Customer Love side of operations.
We had a long day of listening, and unsurprisingly we had a longer night of talking.
